What is Hypnosis and Does it Work?

Most people have seen the movies where the hypnotist can compel the person to do things against their will. Perhaps they have attended a local fair and seen a mass hypnotism. It seems hard to believe that a person could snap their fingers and up to six people can go into a trance, then on command do things they probably would not do consciously. They are told to behave a certain way from being freezing cold to being madly in love with the hypnotist. When he brings them out of the trance, they do not remember any of it.
The hypnotist has performed a mind hypnosis by using his voice and gaze. He has reached into their subconscious minds and offered suggestions while they were in a trance. The trance is often thought of as a deep, semi conscious state, but it is not. Most of us go in and out of trances daily. Did you ever drive a distance and not remember how you got there? Did you ever sit at a traffic light and not realize the light changed because you were "thinking"? Have you ever daydreamed? These are examples of trances we drift in and out of. This is the state of mind that allows mind hypnosis to work so effectively.
When a person is in this trance state, a suggestion is given directly to the subconscious mind. This is a very powerful gift. The subconscious listens and obeys, as long as it is not something they truly do not want to do. A person skilled in mind hypnosis can often hypnotize subjects without them even knowing. This works very well in business deals, sales and relationships.
When in a trance, the subject is not asleep, but very relaxed. When they come out of the trance, they still feel relaxed and at ease. The subconscious mind now directs the person in obeying the command it was given. People react and obey without even realizing it.
A good deal of research has been done on mind hypnosis. A group of researchers in Switzerland designed an experiment to check the brain during mind hypnosis. Subjects were given a suggestion that their left hands were paralyzed, then they were put in a functional MRI. The results showed that the motor pathways worked fine, but that internal representations generated by the suggestions were able to guide behavior. Over the years many MRI's and PET scans have been done that show the effects of mind hypnosis on the brain, and they show actual changes in the brain.
Mind Hypnosis allows you to verbally hypnotize people and attain what you desire.
